On Day 5 our Phoenix Elves learned a little something about the importance of play.
Armed with goodie bags, the Elves visited the Regina Early Learning Centre and stepped into a world of imagination.
The classrooms in the ELC are sensory and engaging for kids of all ages. The kids played with dolls and play-doh, read stories, explored an ice castle and even held a fashion show on their special stage. The day of play was topped off with a big group hug, one as enthusiastic and earnest as the day.
The ELC is a child and family development centre. In 2015, founder Anne Luke was awarded the Saskatchewan Order of Merit for achievement in generosity and vision. Her fundamental values of collaboration, dignity and respect can be felt in the strength-based programming they use today.
